Kits were great alot of fun to do with the kids and easy to follow the shitaki we're pretty much fruiting straight away with a massive yield and the lions mane had a large harvest too unfortunately the chestnuts didn't fruit no fault of merryhill mushrooms they just got contaminated with fruit flies which as a avid mushroom grower myself know is hard to stop and sometimes unavoidable
My lions mane mushroom only cropped once but out of every open orifice in the box and it tasted great. The yellow and pink oyster mushrooms were beautiful to look at and also tasted good but also only cropped once. The chestnut mushroom have cropped and cropped time and again, you would not believe how many I got from the boxes and it didn't seem to matter if I cropped them small or left them to grow they tasted fantastic.
We ordered the four kit bundle including Lion's Mane, Pink Oyster, White and Chestnut mushrooms. I wasn't sure whether I was able to grow any of these least of all Lion's Mane. Lion's Mane appeared first followed by Pink Oyster, Chestnut and White. We are now growing the second batch of Lion's Mane! Who'd have thought it! The mushrooms are delicious and the kits are worth every penny - thank you!

Can I mix different varieties in the bundle?
Yes - We want you to try all we have to offer and this three pack bundle allows for just that. Choose any three kits from the available range, including different species or three of the same if you prefer a larger harvest of one variety.
Is this bundle suitable as a gift?
Yes. Most kits are ready growing on arrival so they will begin fruiting within days of opening. Order before 2pm for same-day dispatch. See our gift ordering guide for full timing and storage advice.
Which variety should I choose as a beginner?
Oyster varieties (Pink, Summer, White) and Chestnut or White mushrooms are the most forgiving for first-time growers. Lion's Mane is slightly more sensitive but very rewarding. All kits come with full growing instructions.
How long will the kits last before I need to start them?
Ready growing kits should be started as soon as possible on arrival. If needed, most can be stored in the fridge for 7 to 10 days before activating. Chestnut and White kits have a longer shelf life see Our Gifting Storage Guide
What temperature do the kits need?
Most oyster varieties are happy between 15°C and 22°C. Lion's Mane prefers 10–20°C. Shiitake and King Oyster are best at 15–20°C. Pink Oyster is the most heat tolerant and suits warmer homes. See our guide on growing mushrooms in warm homes.
How many flushes will I get?
Oyster kits typically produce 2 to 3 flushes. Chestnut and White kits can produce several flushes over a longer period. The first flush is usually the heaviest. Continue misting between flushes for the best results.

Growing Tips
The growing process will start when you remove the lid and activate them with the top soil. They will store chilled for several weeks before use. Just sprinkle the enclosed bag of compost onto your kit, re hydrate with water and put lid loosely back on. DO NOT RESEAL Check moistness each day and remove lid as soon as the white mycelium starts to show.
Chestnut Mushroom Kit Information
Contains Pre spawned compost and a sealed Casing Bag and full instructions. These kits are ideal for gifts, remove the lid to activate and begin to grow mushrooms which are very low in calories and full of nutrients, this variety is the most widely consumed mushroom in the world.
Cooking Tips
Chestnut Mushrooms can be enjoyed cooked or raw and are a versatile ingredient, adding flavour and nutrition to so many dishes. Fantastic in salads, stir fries, risottos and many other tasty recipes.
Gifting Tips
These kits come with a shelf life and are designed to be started in the home, which makes them perfect gifts!

Growing Tips
These kits come with lids with three holes . They are ready growing and all you have to do is keep indoors and spray into each hole Mushrooms will sprout in clumps from all holes, although not always at the same time. Keep spraying until ready to pick. Then slice whole clump to remove. Keep spraying and then a week or two later you will get more growth. Ideal temperature 18-19°C

They are ready growing and all you have to do is keep indoors and spray into each hole Mushrooms will sprout in clumps from all holes, although not always at the same time. Growing Tips
These kits come with four holes which the mushrooms can grow out of, please note some of these may not fruit and serve the function of providing air to the compost and is completely normal. You will place the kit into the humidity bag provided raising it up to protect from draughts. but with an opening at the top. Spray sheets of paper towel and place inside of the humidity bag whist the mushrooms develop and grow, keeping these damp throughout the day with spraying. Ideal Temperature 15-17°C

Lion's Mane Mushroom Growing Kit Information
This Lions Mane Kit comes ready growing (Don't leave it within the postal box) and it's growth when in crop is really spectacular, Your kit is already growing so your first crop in weeks rather than years.
Cooking Tips
A gourmet Mushroom. Lion's Mane tastes similar to that of seafood and is widely used as a vegan substitute, this can be pan fried in butter/olive oil/soy sauce or even shredded as a vegan "crab" cake.
